It's Official! The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour
Well here it is, I gotta say it looks nicer than the camo'd spyshots that I'd seen earlier.

The all-new 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour evolves the Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) concept by integrating a sleek and aerodynamic shape that blends sporty, low-profile contours with versatile CUV functionality, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today.
"Our concept is to broaden the appeal of the Accord line-up by leveraging traditional Accord strengths of fun-to-drive performance and handling while also adapting to dramatic shifts in the light truck marketplace," said Erik Berkman, vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "The Accord Crosstour accomplishes that by offering a modern interpretation of a CUV while integrating the refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan."
Derived from the Accord Sedan, the Accord Crosstour maximizes car-like ride and refinement, yet maintains capabilities consistent with a CUV's increased ride height and all-weather potential. The Accord Crosstour's styling builds on the Accord's familiar character lines and adds a bolder front grille complemented by a durable lower-body appearance, wedge-shaped C-pillars and an aggressive rear stance. The flowing roofline narrows smoothly into the rear of the vehicle to create an aggressive-looking design, which conceals a unique cargo area that can adapt to large objects that exceed the capacity of a sedan.
"We know SUV buyers like the commanding view of the road that comes with a high eye-point and like the comforts of living with an SUV," said Berkman. "This vehicle meets the needs of buyers looking for those attributes yet at the same time want an image that is different from a conventional SUV."
The Accord Crosstour will be positioned at the top of the Accord family when it goes on sale in fall 2009. Additional details will be announced later in the year. New Teaser Released For 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour
Its been official since early July that the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour will arrive in showrooms this fall. But now Honda is running a teaser and countdown on its Future Cars site for the upcoming crossover/tourer previewing a September 1 'sneak preview' date, and it has also released a second teaser - a close crop of the headlight - via its Facebook page. The previous teaser showed part of the grille.In July's brief press release, Honda said the new vehicle will go on sale later this year. No other details were released, but spy shots show the new crossover has much in common with that other Japanese sedan-wagon combo, the 2009 Toyota Venza.
The most likely powertrain options will be the current 2.4-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter V-6 engines from the Accord, although the 2.3-liter turbocharged unit from the Acura RDX may also make a showing. A rear differential seen on prototypes confirm that the Crosstour will be equipped with an AWD system, at least as an option.
Unlike its Acura cousin the ZDX, however, the Crosstour appears to be shunning the four-door 'activity coupe' profile for a more conventional 'tall wagon' look.
The new crossover will fit neatly in the Honda lineup above the CR-V and Element, and beneath the big Pilot SUV. There's no word on pricing nor any official photos, but TheCarConnection will drive the new Crosstour later this year.

Source;Honda Drops Accord Crosstour Teaser Shot, Begins Countdown
Having already confirmed the name of its new Accord-based crossover, Honda is now starting the promotional campaign for the Crosstour with the release of the first teaser shot. It will be followed by more cryptic photographs over the next 11 days as the Japanese automaker wants to build some hype around the crossover prior to the vehicle's official unveiling on September 1st. The first image shows the Crosstour's front grille which is different than the one found on the Accord Coupe and Sedan models - if you just whispered 'big deal' no worries, we agree with you 100 per cent...Previous spy shots suggest that the Accord Crosstour looks like something that we'd feel comfortable describing as a "poor man's" BMW 5-Series GT featuring an elongated hatch and a sleek roofline.
We're still in the dark when it comes to powertrain options but Honda recently announced that the Accord Crosstour will go on sale in the U.S. this fall. More to come shortly.

Move aside Toyota Venza, Honda has unveiled its latest offering: the Honda Accord Crosstour. And this time it’s official. The Accord CUV - not station wagon - will go on sale this fall as a 2010 model.While the press release is brief to say the least, the Accord Crosstour will probably be based off the Acura ZDX and current Honda Accord. Honda’s official website now lists the Accord Crosstour as a future model and features a timer counting down to September 1. At which point Honda will tell us what exactly it is that they’ve put together.
It is yet to be seen if my previous prediction about the Crosstour deriving power from the Acura RDX’s 2.3-Liter turbo fourbanger is true. It was also predicted that an AWD setup might be in the works. Conveniently enough, the press release confirms/debunks absolutely nothing:

Personally, I’d much rather have Honda of America skip this whole CUV bullshit. The European Accord Tourer (pictured below) is a very fine car and it’s absolutely stunning to look at. Skip the drama and just give us the Accord Tourer.

Once again, our spy photographers caught up with Honda’s upcoming Accord-based crossover - not far from where we originally shot it earlier in the week, but this time we managed to get a bit closer! Honda fans have been asking lots of questions and speculating, and we think this newest set of photos will satisfy most.In response to Toyota’s recently launched Venza crossover, Honda is preparing a new CUV based on the Accord. Believed to be called the CrossTour, the latest shots show reveal the forthcoming CUV’s interior as well as engine bay. Although visually similar to the upcoming Acura ZDX, the CrossTour will not ride on the ZDX’s platform.Based on a modified Honda Accord chassis, this all-new crossover vehicle will start production in September of this year at the East Liberty factory in Ohio (the ZDX will be produced in Alliston, Ontario). The Accord CUV will slot in-between CR-V and Pilot and will look to do battle with Toyota’s new Venza CUV. It will likely be called the CrossTour.
These early-production prototypes are powered by Honda’s 3.5 i-VTEC engine, but earlier this year, we observed powertrain mules testing alongside a 2010 Acura RDX. We also noticed these mules accelerating rather briskly, so the 2.3L, four-cylinder turbo motor from the RDX may also have a chance of making it into the Accord CUV.
One thing we can say for sure about this vehicle is that AWD will be an option. A close look at this prototype reveals that it has a rear differential. More than likely, this means the car has Honda’s VTM-4 AWD system.

With all the rumors that have been flying around lately, there has been some confusion surrounding the "CrossTour". I now have some information that I can share, and it came directly from Honda PR.
First of all, Honda has confirmed with us that a new "Crossover" vehicle will be going on sale this fall. The delay that was rumored earlier is false. That said, Honda has not confirmed nor even acknowledged that the name will be "Crosstour". They are simply referring to it as the 2010 Honda “Crossover Vehicle”. I asked whether or not this would be based upon the same platform as the ZDX, and surprisingly they confirmed what we had heard earlier, and that is that it will NOT be based on the ZDX. Beyond that we were told that no further official information would be released until later this year, so we were unable to confirm anything regarding the powetrain, seating layout. TOV Rumours: 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour CUV
Crosstour We've heard whispers of this product for so long it seems that it's been under development forever. We don't have any confirmation on the name yet, but Honda recently registered the Crosstour name, so at the moment it makes the most sense. A flurry of spyshots of a cleverly disguised test mule for this vehicle provided plenty of fodder for internet discussions over the past year or so, but we're still waiting to catch a glimpse of how it will look in production sheetmetal. So far, those spy photos have eluded us. We don't know a lot about this vehicle but there is at least some consistency in the rumors that we've been hearing. First of all, it will be based upon the Accord platform. It will be larger than a CR-V, yet smaller than the Pilot, and priced accordingly (one source tells us it will be equipped to match the Venza for the most part, yet it will undercut it in price). Drivetrains are expected to also be borrowed from the Accord, which would most likely mean you'll get your choice of 4-cyl or 6-cylinder power. Since it will supposedly be equipped to take on the Venza, our guess is that the Crosstour will also offer VTM-4. We've heard a tentative launch date of November, 2009, but we're also told that it could be moved up slightly or even pushed back to early 2010; the decision will be based upon Honda's inventory levels and the overall state of the economy as those dates get closer.Summary: Honda's long-rumored Accord-based crossover will finally be reaching showrooms soon.
Watch For: Spyshots of camo'd test vehicles to begin surfacing soon.
