Spyshots: 2014 Acura MDX Testing in Germany
We’re pretty sure that the fact that we spotted the Acura MDX crossover in Germany doesn’t mean they will be bringing it to Europe. In fact, the roads where these photos were taken are quite close to the Nurburgring test track, indicating the Americans are actually testing some sporty tech.
This is the third generation of the MDX, feating the new styling direction and a five-poing grille, first seen on the RDX, but with several elements borrowed from the RLX and ILX sedans. It’s likely that what the engineers are testing here is a new hybrid all-wheel drive system.
In the US, the current MDX has been on the market since 2006, and has received a facelift in 2009. So we’re likely looking at a 2013 reveal of the 2014 model year MDX round about the Los Angeles Auto Show. It's likely there will also be a greener hybrid version with three electric motors working in conjunction with a 3.5-liter V6 engine.

2014 Acura MDX spied for the first time
Our spies have snapped the first pictures of the 2014 Acura MDX.
Caught heavily disguised, the model appears to have an evolutionary front fascia with a prominent grille and larger air intakes. There's also a dual exhaust system and five-spoke alloy wheels.
Engine options remain a mystery, but speculation suggests the crossover could be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6. It will likely be connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an optional hybrid SH-AWD system.

2010 Acura ZDX Spied!

You'll notice that the prototype below was a sharp indication of what the car was going to look like. The “four-door coupe” trend quickly spread throughout the luxury sedan segment following the launch of the Mercedes CLS, and it looks as though the ‘CUV coupe’ segment is the next frontier for luxury automakers.
“The ZDX prototype is unlike anything you have ever seen before from Acura,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president, Acura sales. “The prototype showcases a new level of luxury, style and refinement for Acura and speaks volumes towards our commitment to advancing the brand.”
Built on the same platform as the Acura MDX, the vehicle is being developed by engineers at Honda’s assembly plant in Alliston, Ontario. Acura has yet to comment on the ZDX’s drivetrain, but it is widely believed crossover will feature an all-aluminum VTEC V6 hooked to Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.
The 2010 Acura ZDX is expected to begin production this fall, arriving in dealerships during the latter half of 2009.

Motor Authority Catches Acura's Next Sporty SUV being Tested

The new Acura is expected to be a sporty crossover to rival the likes of the BMW X6 and Infiniti FX 35

Acura confirmed recently a number of plans to expand its lineup with several all-new models in an attempt to compete with more established tier 1 luxury brands such as its German rivals, which currently offer full range lineups. The upmarket Honda label is limited to a handful of sedans and a pair of SUVs but the next couple of years will be very busy as the company prepares for the launch of a new coupe, a supercar, and according to these spy shots a new crossover as well. The prototype for the upcoming sporty crossover was first spotted testing at night in California’s Death Valley back in August. The latest shots show the car during the day and reveal an extremely low roofline that starts to descend after the B-pillar. This gives it a coupe-like profile similar to BMW's X6, which will be one of its main rivals.
Acura is yet to reveal any specific details about a new crossover model, however the company’s vice president for corporate planning and logistics, Dan Bonawitz, confirmed recently that Acura’s first all-new model would be launched in 2010 and that it would be followed by the NSX-replacement later that same year.
This means the crossover could feature a V8 engine, which Acura plans to introduce within the next 18 months. The other engine option would likely include the current 3.7L V6. Honda’s Super-Handling AWD system would also likely come as standard.

More 2009 Acura TL Spyshots

There was one other photo of the interior but I didn't bother to post it b/c a towel is covering the dash. Here's the link though in case you want to check it out anyway.http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/21/spy-shots-2009-acura-tl-in-the-buff/
2009 Acura TL Rear Shot
We've already seen the offical Front End of the vehicle, now here's the rear end."According to our sources, here's what you can expect:
The much more exciting news lies in the next generation TL Type-S. Under the hood you will find the 3.7-liter V6 from the MDX CUV. That's an engine already rated at 300 HP in the MDX and our industry sources tell us to expect this motor to be good for around 330 HP in the TL's hot rod version. That said, we've also heard whispers that a number in the 340-350 HP range is not totally out of the realm of possibility.
If those horsepower numbers get your blood flowing, remember that power will also be coursing through Acura's torque-vectoring, SH-AWD system on the Type-S. That leads us to hope those rumors about a number closer to 350 HP turn out to be true.
The last bit of good news on the Type-S is the slush box. A 6 speed, manumatic DSG gearbox will be standard equipment on this faster-than-average sports sedan. Expect to be able to shift the gears through steering wheel-mounted, flappy-paddle shifters, or with the "stick" itself via a "+/-" gate.
Watch for the regular 2009 TL to go on sale during the summer or fall of 2008 and we expect the meaner S-Type following 6-12 months later. "
